Are Interviews Flawed?
Interviews don’t tell you if the person would be a good coworker. They tell you NOTHING about:
- Will this person care about the job? Will they finish deliverables on time?
- Is this person careful? Can you trust them and rely on their work?
- Is this person honest? Do they act with integrity? If they find a bug in their work, do they proactively disclose it to all affected people?
- Does this person care about the health of the system? Do they ignore on-call alerts? Do they use way more system capacity than they actually need, without even trying to save resources?
- How much will this person help their coworkers? Will they review code quickly and thoroughly? Will they document their knowledge so everyone can learn from it?
