Main - is used in the context when you are the doer of the verb.

  • “Main kar raha hu” = “I am doing it”

Mujhe and Mujhko can be used interchangeably when you refer to yourself in the sentence but did not actually do the action physically. Can be used in the sense of me also (but not vice versa)!

  • “Mujhe chahiye” = “I want”
  • “Mujhe nahi pata” = “I dont know (You did not actually do it physically!)”
  • “Mujhe ye de do” = “Give it to me”

Mera/Meri/Mere - my or mine

  • मेरा (Mera) is used with singular masculine nouns, or collective entities whether it’s about living beings, non-living things, or abstract nouns you are referring to because Hindi uses grammatical gender for non-living and abstract nouns also
    • मेरा भाई (Mera bhai = My brother)
    • मेरा भोजन (Mera bhojan = My food)
  • मेरी (Meri) is used with singular feminine nouns, collective entity or abstract nouns
    • मेरी बहन (Meri behan= My sister)
    • मेरी कुसीॆ (Meri kursi = My chair)
    • पुस्तक मेरी है (Pustak meri hain = The book is mine)
  • मेरे (Mere) is used plural nouns, irrespective of the gender used
    • मरे दोस्त (Mere dost = my friends)
