Dependence on God
- it doesn’t mean pretending you’re okay
- it doesn’t mean polished faith, but honest connection
- it is not a feeling, but a decision you revisit daily
- loneliness and heartbreak are not signs you’re failing spiritually
It means Telling the Truth about what you’re feeling
Prayer
God, I don’t feel okay right now.
I feel lonely, and I miss what I had.
I keep replaying things I wish I did differently.
Part of me feels like I wasn’t enough.
I don’t fully feel your love right now, but I want to trust that it’s still there.
Help me not to define myself by this loss.
Help me heal honestly, not just quickly.
Stay with me in this—even if I don’t feel it.
Breakups and Unrequited love
This hits deeper, what’s gone is not just the person, but also
- the version of yourself you felt when you were with them
- and the future you that you’ve imagined being gone
So when it doesn’t work out, your mind tries to explain it:
- “what’s wrong with me?”
- “why wasn’t I enough?”
- “Did I mess up?”
Here’s an important correction:
- A relationship not working != you being unworthy of love
Belief in Eternal Life isn’t Just About the Afterlife
It also reshapes how you see this life.
Your life doesn’t just end here
In Psalm 22
- it goes from: despair → to hope → to restoration
- the structure itself is the message
Pain is real, but it is not the endpoint
