While reading the gospels: Satan (the adversary, the diabolos, the devil) does everything to stop Jesus:
- used King Herod to kill Jesus as a baby
- tempt Jesus 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness: Luke 4
- does not want Jesus to die on the cross: Matthew 16:21-23
- Judas betrays Jesus and kills Him: near the end of Gospels
- Report Jesus’s body was stolen: Matthew 28:12-13
Satan wants Jesus to turn to his side but fails. Satan tries to stop Jesus from going to the cross but fails. Satan kills Jesus with success, but in “bruising the heel, Satan dealt a blow to his head”.
Now Satan is actively suppressing the Word of God to this day.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he doesn’t exist.
