Matthew 13 is one of the passages I go back to often. And I do not know why
- The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field
- The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field
- The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough
- The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field
- Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls
- Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish
“And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith”
The kingdom of heaven is the sower, the seed, the treasure, the treasure hunter. The kingdom of heaven is the net that gathers all: the good and evil. This is one way to look at it, but I may be wrong. Starts with the sowing ends with the reaping.
Matthew 18:23
- Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants
Matthew 20:1
- For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard
Matthew 22:2
- The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son
Matthew 25
- At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
- Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them.
