Addiction is the compulsive nature of a behavior that is often a chronic disease of the brain
it is not termed an addiction until the following is true:
- the behavior leads to intrapersonal health issues (e.g. mental or physical health issues)
- the behavior becomes disruptive to interpersonal relationships (e.g. home, work, social)
- the person is unable to stop engaging in chronic behavior despite these consequences
the behavior becomes your master
